  • Must have completed at least three years of college before the annual alumni banquet that is held Memorial Day weekend

  • Must have studied at an accredited institution and plan to enroll in the fall term with 12 or more credit hours in pursuit of degree

    (or at least 6 credit hours if working on post-graduate degree)

  • Winners must be present to receive Certificate of Honor at annual banquet

  • Three types of grants will be awarded: college junior, college graduate student & non-traditional student

  • Must have met incoming qualifications, and been accepted as a member of the Nebraska City Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter Reserve Program by August 31 (of senior year of high school) in good standing with the the department under the NCVFD Fire Chief's discretion

  • In good standing and participates regularly in department trainings, drills, meetings and response to emergency calls (excluding school hours)

  • Current high school senior at NCHS, Lourdes or Home School (as Nebraska City resident)

*This scholarship is paid in the second year of college after successful completion of the first year of college. The final criteria for the selected recipients to be awarded in the second year are as follows:

  • Official college transcript showing a minimum of 24 credit hours earned at the institution during the first year

  • Official college transcript showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 earned during the first year
