Eligibility:

Must have participated in either instrumental or vocal music each semester, all four years of high school
Must have a 2 average throughout seven semesters
Must plan to pursue additional education beyond high school
Must be respectable, a leader, a person of integrity and an individual of outstanding moral character

Elks Vocational Scholarship

Must be a graduating NCHS senior planning to enroll in a vocational program

Must be a senior planning to major in education at an accredited institution of higher learning
Selection will be based on a combination of academics, school and community involvement, recommendation, essay evaluation and character

Tree City Garden Education Scholarship ($300)

Eligibility:

Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States
Must be a senior graduating from Nebraska City High School
Must plan to attend a college or university that is accredited and listed on the official website of the U.S. Department of Education
Must plan to attend college full time (minimum of 12 hours of classes)
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
Must be panning a career related to:
- Gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design or horticulture
Must plan to major in one of the following fields of study:
- Agronomy, Agriculture Education, Entomology, Floriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Botany, Biology, Forestry, Wildlife Science, Plant Pathology/Science, City Planning, Habitat or Forest/Systems Ecology, Environmental Concerns, Environmental Conservation (including Engineering) or Land Management

Nebraska City High School Alumni Foundation Grant for College Students and Non-Traditional Students (at least $2,000)

Eligibility:

Must be a graduate of Nebraska City Public Schools
Must have completed at least three years of college before the annual alumni banquet that is held Memorial Day weekend
Must have studied at an accredited institution and plan to enroll in the fall term with 12 or more credit hours in pursuit of degree
(or at least 6 credit hours if working on post-graduate degree)
Winners must be present to receive Certificate of Honor at annual banquet
Three types of grants will be awarded: college junior, college graduate student & non-traditional student

Eligibility:

Graduate of Nebraska City High School
Must intend to enroll in any Nebraska community college or technical college
Must pursue any certificate, diploma or associate degree program in the following general academic areas:
- Agriculture
- Skilled trades and technical sciences
- Healthcare
- Manufacturing
- Transportation
Must intend to live and work within the state of Nebraska

Preference given to graduating high school seniors
Must have demonstrated academic success but might not be the highest ranked in their graduating class
Must be actively involved in the community

Cornelia Petring Kimmel Scholarship ($5,000 per semester for one year pending eligibility)

Morton and Ella Steinhart Scholarship ($2,500; renewable for up to 4 years)

Must be part of an NCHS athletic program and complete one full season during senior year

Eligibility:

Must have met incoming qualifications, and been accepted as a member of the Nebraska City Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter Reserve Program by August 31 (of senior year of high school) in good standing with the the department under the NCVFD Fire Chief's discretion
In good standing and participates regularly in department trainings, drills, meetings and response to emergency calls (excluding school hours)
Current high school senior at NCHS, Lourdes or Home School (as Nebraska City resident)
Minimum GPA of 2.75
Minimum ACT of 22
No Misdemeanors
CPR Certified by April 1st prior to May graduation
Must have attended at least 3 meetings of any government, city, county, or similar agency during senior year (and provide dates of attendance on application form

*This scholarship is paid in the second year of college after successful completion of the first year of college. The final criteria for the selected recipients to be awarded in the second year are as follows:

Graduate of NCHS Class of 2025
Accepted into and attending an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or community college
Official college transcript showing a minimum of 24 credit hours earned at the institution during the first year
Official college transcript showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 earned during the first year
Currently enrolled as a full-time student (transfer to a different institution will be considered)

Westfall Family Music Scholarship ($1,000)

Eligibility:

Must be a graduating senior from Nebraska City High School
Must plan to attend an accredited university or state college and participate in a school-sponsored instrumental music activity (first priority given to students majoring or minoring in music)
Minimum GPA of 3.5
Must be a current member of the instrumental music program at NCHS
