Hayward Elementary School students will return on Thursday, October 14.  We continue to have several staff members out due to a variety of reasons.  Illness is one of the reasons.  Numerous illnesses are throughout our district and community.  There is not one simple step that will reduce the spread of illness, but please monitor symptoms and keep your child home if ill or your child has symptoms.  We ask that everyone practices proper hygiene, in particular washing hands.  Hand sanitizer is made available throughout the building for student and staff use.  The school district continues to stay diligent in our cleaning and disinfecting practices. Students and staff are encouraged to wear masks to help reduce the spread of illness.  Visitors will not be allowed in Hayward Elementary until further notice.  Parents and Guardians may come to the front office if needed. We want to reiterate our appreciation for your flexibility and support as we navigate these ever changing conditions.  I also want to take this opportunity to thank the entire NCPS staff in helping all across the district to provide the best educational opportunities for all students.
